Over 70 Giga Watt solar power capacities have been installed in the Country. New and Renewable Energy Minister R. K. Singh gave this information in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha. The country has an estimated solar power potential of over seven lakh 48 thousand Mega Watt. He added that the potential of solar energy is not fully tapped so far. Mr Singh said, the Government is making efforts to harness the available potential through various schemes and programmes.
