Union Minister Raksha Khadse today reached Kathmandu, Nepal, to oversee the return of Indian victims and survivors of a bus accident in the Tanahun district. An Indian tourist bus travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu with around 43 Indians fell 150 meters into the Marshyangdi River, resulting in the death of 27 Indians in the unfortunate road accident in Tanahun yesterday.
”India’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, has arrived in Kathmandu to enquire about the health condition of Indian citizens who were injured in a bus accident at Ainapahra of Aambookhaireni in Tanahun. The Minister of State reached the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital at Maharajganj and enquired about the health condition of the injured ones. The passenger bus with an Indian number plate heading to Kathmandu from Pokhara fell 150 meters down the road into the Masryangdi River on Friday morning. 27 people died in the accident, and 16 injured are receiving treatment at TUTH. The wounded passengers were brought to Kathmandu on Friday in a Nepal Army helicopter. 43 passengers were onboard. Meanwhile, those who lost their lives in the accident underwent a postmortem at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan. Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, informed me that the dead body would be sent to India after completing the postmortem.”
