Union Minister for Power and Renewable Energy Rajkumar Singh today launched Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana in West Bengal. On this occasion, the state level main event was held in Kolkata. Artists from various parts of the state along with technicians and experts from various fields of society were present at the event. Besides, the Power Minister also inaugurated an exhibition on the occasion, where skills of the artists of the state were highlighted.

Apart from Kolkata, special events were organized in Siliguri and Durgapur to mark the launch of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. An event was organized live at the CRPF camp at Amaravati in Durgapur, West Burdwan. Ashwani Kumar Choubey, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Works, Forests and Climate Change was present on the occasion. Union Minister Nisith Pramanik and Darjeeling BJP MP Raju Bista were present at a similar function, organized at a private hotel on Siliguri Sevak Road.
