Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Purshottam Rupala and Union Minister of State Dr L Murugan will undertake review meetings for Phase IX of Sagar Parikrama for three days from tomorrow. The Ministers will be visiting fishing harbours and fish landing centres in Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts in Tamil Nadu and also Karaikal fish landing centre in Puducherry tomorrow. On the second day of Sagar Parikrama, the Ministers will interact with fishermen at Tharangambadi fish landing centre, Poompuhar and Cuddalore fishing harbours.
They will also meet the fishermen and also officers at Puducherry for review of the schemes implemented in the Union territory of Puducherry. On the third day, the Ministers will visit Anumandai fish landing centre at Villupuram district and also interact with fishermen at Pudupattinam fish landing centre at Kalpakkam. Later there will be a meeting with the All India Shrimp Hatchery Association at Mahabalipuram after which there will be a review meeting with the State Government officials at the State Secretariat, on the schemes of the Union Government implemented in Tamil Nadu. Later, the Ministers will review the work undertaken at the Tuna fishing harbour in Tiruvottiyur and also at the Chennai fishing harbour.
