Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Pralhad Joshi today flagged off subsidised Bharat brand foodgrains consignment in Hubballi. Over 50 trucks loaded with Bharat brand rice, wheat flour, Toor and Urad dal left for different destinations for distribution in Hubballi and Dharwad in North Karnataka. In his address, Mr Joshi informed that to mitigate the impact of rising prices of foodgrains and pulses the Central Government has introduced Bharat foodgrains at subsidised prices, especially for the poor. Bharat brand rice is priced at 34 rupees per Kg, wheat at 30 rupees, Toor dal at 70 and Urad dal at 107 rupees per kg.
