Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlights Budget’s focus on uplifting poor, farmers, youth, and women

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal said, the budget 2024 is a budget for all, which is aimed at creating Amrit Peedhi for the country. Elaborating more on the budget, Mr. Goyal said it is a budget that would benefit 140 crore people living in India. Speaking at a function in Mumbai on Sunday, the Minister stated that this budget would not only uplift the poor, but farmers, youths, and women would also be largely benefitted from it. He said, women would get more opportunities, farmers’ income would increase, and 4 crore youth would be prepared for the future through skill development and internships. This budget would help people in employment, ease of doing business would increase, MSMEs will get benefit, and startups will get a boost. Speaking about the long-term vision plan, the minister said a budget that is populist may appear beneficial for the short term, but over a period of time it proves to be harmful. He added that therefore, it is always in the interest of the nation that a budget is planned keeping long-term goals in consideration. He said the budget should be planned in a way so that the country’s economy remains strong, as a strong economy can lead a country to become a developed nation. Criticizing opposition for forming a narrative that only two states received funds in this budget, Mr. Goyal said it is completely false as there are various infrastructure projects going on in every state with a special emphasis on the North Eastern region.
