Union Minister for fisheries Parshottam Rupala on the third day of the phase IX of Sagar Parikrama, today visited Anumanthai, the fish landing site at Villupuram District. He met the local fishermen, self help groups and those involved in the fishing industry and interacted with them. The  Minister also distributed assistance under the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada scheme and also the Kisan Credit Cards to the beneficiaries.

Meeting the fishermen at Kalpakkam in Chengalpet District, the Minister told that labourers involved in related industry of fishing can benefit by registering themselves under ViswaKarma Scheme. Later the Minister is scheduled to meet the members of the All India Shrimp Hatchery Association. He will also review the Central Government schemes of fisheries and animal husbandry in the State.
