Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launches 'Ek Pune' metro card for Pune Metro travelers

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that Pune is the center of development of the country and projects worth two lakh crore rupees are underway for Pune division. He was speaking after the inauguration of Chandni Chowk flyover and various other road projects in Pune on Saturday. He also launched 'Ek Pune' metro card for Pune Metro travelers. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Deputy Speaker of Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Informing that another 50,000 crore rupees worth of bridges are ready to be built on the highways connecting Pune city. Mr. Gadkari said that the new technology being used in various road projects across the country like the tunnel in Kargil and the bridge over Brahmaputra has resulted in huge savings in costs.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that efforts are on to have an independent airport for the city of Pune and the state government is paying attention to strengthening the public transport system to reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
