Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman on 7th July 2023, Friday chaired a review meeting of the saturation drive of various Central Government Flagship Schemes in Puducherry. Chief Minister of Puducherry  N. Rangaswamy, members of his Council of Ministers, and other senior officials of the Union Territory were present in the meeting. Puducherry has outshined the national average in many parameters of flagship schemes per lakh population in the last four months.
 
After the review meeting, Smt Sitharaman also participated in a Credit Outreach Programme organised by State Level Bankers' Committee at Tagore Arts College Play Ground, Puducherry. The Finance Minister in her speech mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives for the upliftment of the poor and his vision to ensure financial credit with low interest to the poor in time.
