Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya today chaired a stakeholders’ consultation meeting in New Delhi to discuss the Draft National Sports Governance Bill 2024. In his address, the minister said that the aim of the government is to provide the youth with the right direction.
Mr. Mandaviya said that the Draft National Sports Governance Bill 2024 aims to establish a comprehensive framework to promote the development and welfare of sportspersons, ensure ethical governance, and provide an effective dispute resolution mechanism. He further added that the bill has been drafted keeping in mind the diverse needs of athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
The Union Minister acknowledged the significant role of coaches in nurturing sports talent. He said that through this bill, they will be able to produce outstanding athletes for the nation. To make the bill more effective, he also asked for the suggestions of the participants.
The event witnessed participation from a diverse group of athletes, including Arjuna Awardees, Khel Ratna Awardees, Olympians, Paralympians, and Dronacharya award-winning coaches.
