Union Minister L. Murugan thanks PM Modi and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for launching nine Vande Bharat trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the second Vande Bharat rail service of Tamil Nadu from Tirunelveli to Chennai through video conferencing on Sunday. The train departed from Tirunelveli around 1 p.m. Dr.Tamilisai Sounderarajan, the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry travelled on the train to Madurai.
 
Speaking to media in Tirunelveli, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, rail services have been revolutionized, and the introduction of Vande Bharat trains has given a unique and comfortable experience to people. He said 6,000 crore rupees worth of rail projects were introduced. Railway stations at Egmore, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Rameswaram and Kanyakumari were renovated at a cost of 1,000 crore rupees. The Minister informed that nine new projects were implemented in Tamil Nadu.
 
In an exclusive interview to Akashwani on board the Vande Bharat Express, Dr. Murugan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw for launching nine Vande Bharat trains. Dr Murugan said people, including students and professionals from southern part of Tamil Nadu, will be benefited and travel time reduced significantly.

The Union Minister said Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
