Union Minister for Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju has visited and inspected the High Altitude Cloud Physics Laboratory at Mahabaleshwar situated in Satara district of Maharashtra. The laboratory is functioning as a branch of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune. The center mainly studies cloud movements related to monsoon rains. During this visit today, Mr. Rijiju inspected various departments of the center and learned about their functioning. Dr. G. Pandidurai, Project Director of the Center briefed him about the research work going on in this experimental center. Mr. Rijiju then had an informal interaction with the scientists at the centre.
