Several Union Ministers and leaders of different political parties today paid tribute to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary by participating in Swachhata Abhiyans across Delhi. Talking to media, BJP National President and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said that Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call for cleanliness which has been turned into a mass movement by the government. Mr Nadda urged people to unite for ensuring cleanliness, and make India clean, happy, and healthy.
Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh participated in Shramdaan at Krishi Bhawan. Mr Singh said that cleanliness is a very important part of people’s life. He added that the government launched the ‘Swacchta Abhiyan’ with an aim to spread awareness about cleanliness.
Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, also took part in the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” Campaign at Nehru Park in the National Capital . During the event, the minister also planted a tree under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign.
