Demolition not allowed for Musi River Beautification Project warns Union Minister G K Reddy

In Telangana, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy has met the families being relocated as part of the Musi River Beautification Project. Speaking after meeting the families from various colonies in Amberpet Assembly constituency and extending support, he said the Central Government will extend assistance to construct the houses but not demolish them.

The state government had proposed to relocate some identified houses which are close to Muri River bed, as part of the Musi River Beautification Project. Mr Reddy said the colonies are around 30-40 years old and the poor people by working hard bought the land and built their houses there. He said the land was not given to them by the government.

He warned the state government that his party will not allow the demolition of the houses.

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao also launched a sharp criticism against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging him of creating chaos and misery for the people of Hyderabad, especially during the festive seasons of Dussehra and Bathukamma. He said poor people in the area are living in constant fear of their homes being demolished, uncertain of when the government might act.
