Union Minister Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey visits Pulwama in South Kashmir under public outreach programme

Union Minister for Heavy Industries Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey yesterday visited Pulwama in South Kashmir to showcase the Central Government's commitment to foster collaboration and growth in the region. The visit was a part of a public outreach programme which commenced with an inaugural ceremony of various projects followed by a review meeting.

Dr. Pandey expressed great satisfaction over the progress in all schemes and the saturation of different schemes in the District. He said the focus of the Centre is to ensure that the residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir get the best benefits and services, and maintained that district Pulwama is faring very well on all parameters. 

The Union Minister also met with various delegations representing Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Block Development Councils (BDCs), District Development Councils (DDCs) led by the DDC Chairperson, and a dynamic youth delegation. The interactions were marked by constructive dialogue and the exchange of ideas aimed at addressing the unique needs and aspirations of Pulwama's diverse population.

After these productive discussions, the Union Minister proceeded to the Administrative Complex Pulwama, wherein the Panch PRAN Pledge was administered followed by a heartwarming felicitation ceremony conducted to honour the families of the brave Veers under the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" programme. This touching gesture reaffirmed the Government's commitment to their well-being and recognition. The families of martyrs were presented mementos by the Union Minister as a symbol of profound gratitude and respect.

The Minister expressed pleasure at the progress made by the district and the role of the public in extending full support to the Administration in this process, thus fulfilling the Centre's vision for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
