Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hails India’s role in both domestic & global science advancements over past decade

Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has hailed India’s role in both domestic and global science advancements over the past decade. Launching the report titled – A Decade of Science-Technology Panorama for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in New Delhi, Dr. Singh emphasized India’s prowess in space exploration, citing achievements such as Chandrayaan and Aditya L-1, which have propelled the nation into the global spotlight. Dr. Singh expressed pride in India’s imminent Gaganyaan mission which promises to further elevate the country’s status in space exploration. He also highlighted India’s leadership in public health, particularly in vaccine development. The Minister said India is today playing the role of a protective health leader, providing vaccines to nations worldwide. He also lauded the emergence of startups and unicorns, attributing their success to government policies aimed at fostering innovation and economic growth.

The report covers a number of Indian achievements in last one decade, including the JAM Trinity, advancements in space exploration, vaccine development, the unleashing of 4G/5G technology for a connected future and the New Education Policy among others. The report also showcases India’s strides in renewable energy with ultra-mega solar power projects and the formulation of a Geo-Spatial Policy to enhance mapping capabilities. Project Gati Shakti, aimed at transforming connectivity and driving economic growth, has also been highlighted as a significant endeavour.
