Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh today inaugurated the Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute Emporium located at Lerie in Kohima. The Emporium is supported by the Ministry of Textiles. Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Jardosh said, Nagaland is home to several spectacular Handicrafts. She said, the Emporium has all the Naga Jewellery to Woodcarvings, and Bamboo Cane Products to Tribal crafts.
The Minister, highlighting another specialty of the Emporium, said, all the items showcased here are handcrafted by the Women of Nagaland, trained by the Vocational Training Institute. The visiting Minister also met with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and tied a rakhi on him. She said, a sister from the western part of India is tying Rakhi to her brother from Northeast India along with her best wishes for the entire State.
Earlier, the MoS met with Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak, State BJP President and Minister Temjen Imna Along, and BJP office bearers of Kohima District. She also chaired a meeting with State BJP officials in Kohima. During the meeting, Jardosh stressed upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government's resolute efforts to usher in new positive developments in the State through infrastructure, tourism, education, and employment.
