Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin for his remarks against the Hindi language. Reacting to a social media post by Mr Stalin, Mr Vaishnaw alleged that poor governance will never be hidden by such shallow attempts to divide society. He said it would be interesting to know what the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, a Member of Parliament from a Hindi-speaking constituency, has to say about such a comment by Mr. Stalin. Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said that the push for what he called a monolithic Hindi identity is what kills ancient mother tongues.
