Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate a new campus of Zetwork electronics at Sriperumbudur and also review some development projects of IIT Madras today.
The Minister arrived in Chennai this morning and proceeded to Sriperumbudur for the inauguration.
He will also visit Thaiyur where the hyperloop train project is being tested. Later in the evening he will visit IIT Madras Campus at Adyar and visit the Centre for innovation.
He will also meet at the Reduced Instruction Set Computer Centre, which aligns with the vision of Digital India and is a key pillar of India’s Semiconductor Mission at IIT.
Akashvani Correspondent reports, Zetwerk is a significant contributor to the development of the Mumbai -Ahmedabad High Speed rail corridor.
It is also a contributor to the Amrit Bharat Station redevelopment schemes with its strong project execution capabilities and it is involved in formation works, track laying, bridge construction also.
The Rail Minister will also review the progress in the hyperloop project at IIT thaiyur near Chennai . The hyperloop train technology is all set to reshape the future of high speed travel.
The systems will not only reduce travel times between cities but also offer an alternative to traditional rail and air travel. The 422 meter long Hyperloop test track was developed by IIT Madras.
The hyperloop concept envisions high speed low pressure pods travelling at speeds of upto 1200 kmph, connecting major cities in a matter of minutes.
The hyperloop technology can reduce a journey of around 350 km in less than 30 minutes. The project has been jointly developed in coordination with IIT Madras, TuTr Hyperloop Pvt. mts, the technical university of Munich and Neoways technologies GmbH.
The four entities work together to accelerate technology validation, infrastructure planning and real world commercial projects for hyperloop systems.
They will also work toward large scale testing and validation sites, ensuring the technical feasibility and safety of hyperloop transit systems.
