Youth Affairs and Sports Minister commended the performance of Indian contingent at 2023 Commonwealth Youth, Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championships.

In a tweet, Mr Thakur said the contingent secured India's best-ever medal haul of 61 medals with 38 Gold, 21 Silver and 2 Bronze. He said Indian athletes have showcased their exceptional skills, technique and focus and each one of the 52 participants has proudly bagged a well-deserved medal. Twenty-seven Khelo India Athletes secured over 30 medals, making their mark on the global stage. The Minister said this accomplishment highlights the depth of talent in Indian Weightlifting.
