Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi India has shown immense progress in sports at the global level. Speaking during the MoU signing ceremony between NADA India and SARADO in New Delhi, he said, PM Narendra Modi has envisioned India to become a sporting powerhouse in the coming years. He added that India is focusing on high-quality training, accessible and improved sporting infrastructure, for all sports through competitions and training camps. 

Calling the MoU between NADA India and SARADO 'historic'  Mr. Thakur said It is a milestone and first of its kind step by India towards augmenting regional cooperation in anti-doping in the Asian Region. He said It is envisaged that NADA India, with adequate capacities and expertise in the field to undertake major events, is able to become a nodal organization to cooperate and support the regional partners in all anti-doping activities. The Minister also called for a global need to control unethical practices observed in sports and said which sometimes deteriorate an athlete’s sporting career.
