HM Amit Shah chairs high-level review meeting in Srinagar

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today chaired a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar to review the progress on ongoing developmental projects in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The meeting was aimed to have a first-hand account of the progress of key infrastructure and welfare initiatives under the central government’s development agenda for Jammu & Kashmir.

 

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were present during the meeting.

 

Senior officials from the central and state administrations also attended the session to provide updates on current projects and the status of their implementation.

 

Amit Shah directed the J&K Administration to focus on accelerating infrastructure growth, boosting tourism, improving connectivity, and enhancing welfare schemes across the Jammu and Kashmir regions. Amit Shah reiterated the Centre’s commitment to ensuring speedy and inclusive development in the Union Territory. The Home Minister is scheduled to chair a high-level meeting on the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir. He will also chair a comprehensive review meeting regarding the overall security scenario, given the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra starting on 3rd July this year. The Home Minister is also expected to meet with local delegations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a day visit to J&K, reached Srinagar last evening. He was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Srinagar Airport.
