Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurates permanent campus of NIPER Ahmedabad in Gandhinagar

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said India will not only be self-reliant in drug manufacturing but will be in a position to export Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Key Starting Materials (KSM) to the world in the next ten years.
 
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of a permanent campus of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Ahmedabad at Palaj in Gandhinagar.
 
Mr Shah said institutes like NIPER will play an important role in achieving self-sufficiency for Indian research and development in the pharmaceutical sector in the country.
 
The Minister also added that the Union government is focusing on establishing pharma parks, and bulk drug parks in the country and equally working to achieve self-reliance in the medical device field.
 
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said Union Chemical and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya the campus of NIPER in Gandhinagar will bring revolution in pharma education and research in the state and will offer wide opportunities for the young generation in biomedical research. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said NIPER will offer a talent pool for conducting research and development in the ever-expanding pharma sector in the country.
 
The new campus of NIPER Ahmedabad is spread over 60 acres of land at Palaj in Gandhinagar.
