Union Minister Amit Shah flags off Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai’s EN MANN, EN MAKKAL Padayatra in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu today

Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai’s EN MANN, EN MAKKAL (My Land – My People) Padayatra in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu today. Alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the launch event of the padayatra in Tamil Nadu was graced by the presence of Minister for Information & Broadcasting L. Murugan, MP G.K. Vasan, and several other NDA alliance leaders. The Padayatra is a significant step in the party's preparations for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The yatra undertaken by Mr. Annamalai, EN MANN, EN MAKKAL has ambitious goals to bring about positive changes in Tamil Nadu's political landscape. The padayatra EN MANN, EN MAKKAL started by Annamalai will span across all 234 constituencies of Tamil Nadu and is planned to continue for the next 168 days. This extensive journey is a significant endeavour to reach out to people from all corners of the State and connect with them at the grassroots level. The Tamil Nadu BJP President expressed gratitude to all the alliance partners who attended the launch meeting of the 168-day-long Padayatra.

During the event, the Home Minister also unveiled the Tamil book titled "Modi Enna Seidhar" (What Modi Did), highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "EN Mann, En Makkal Padayatra" is expected to instill a sense of pride and enthusiasm among the public. He stated that this may strive to end family politics, combat corruption, and protect the interests of the public.

Mr. Shah also mentioned that both Kasi Tamil and Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam have contributed significantly to the dissemination of Tamil culture, literature, and traditions outside Tamil Nadu, fostering a sense of unity and cultural exchange among Tamil-speaking communities across India. These efforts have also helped in strengthening the bonds of linguistic and cultural diversity, he added.

During the event, Mr. Shah listed out the achievements of the Modi Government such as the Ayushman Bharat Scheme for improved medical facilities and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to promote sanitation and improve hygiene across the country. Furthermore, he stated that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 15 lakh families were provided housing support, and one crore 31 lakh people received financial support under Jan Dhan Yojana. He mentioned that these initiatives are a part of the Government's efforts to address various social and economic challenges and uplift the living standards of citizens across the nation. It reflects the government's commitment to promoting welfare and development through targeted schemes and policies, he added.
