Union Health Secretary Sudhansh Pant has urged doctors to encourage patients with heart diseases for lifestyle modifications. Addressing a webinar for medical officers, Mr. Pant stressed the health policy shift from curative to preventive and promotive health, where more focus is given to the prevention of the occurrence of diseases. On the occasion, Dr. Balram Bharvaga, Head of the Department of Cardiology, AIIMS, New Delhi emphasized that screening patients for hypertension is the key to controlling and managing it.
 
The aim of the webinar was to accelerate people’s Movement for a Healthy Heart in India. Experts from the medical fraternity and in the field of cardiology along with public health experts participated in it.  Over six thousand Medical Officers participated in the webinar.
