Union Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal today said that adopting a unified platform for approvals and facilities across all states and union territories will attract global investment to each state. He further said reforms at the local level are pivotal for ease of doing business and for guiding the country toward becoming a developed nation. Mr. Goyal was chairing the conference of industries and commerce Ministers, Udyog Samagam-2024, in New Delhi.

On this occasion, he felicitated top performers under the Business Reforms Action Plan and released the Regulatory Compliance Burden booklet. The booklet showcases the government’s ongoing efforts to simplify, digitalize, and eliminate outdated regulations that hinder business operations. The Minister said that a genuine, rational single window is key to easing business processes in the country.

Giving the mantra of competition, collaboration, and cooperation, the Minister said that complicated processes and lengthy paperwork demotivate investors. He asserted that state governments need to support industries by providing subsidies, allotting land, offering incentives, and simplifying paperwork. Industries and Commerce Ministers from 16 states and senior officials from other states attended the day-long conference.
