Under the leadership of PM Modi India became the world leader in the fight against climate change & global warming: Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi India became the world leader in the fight against climate change and global warming.
 
Addressing the gathering after planting the 4 Croreth saplings at Central Reserve Police Force Group Center in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh today, Mr Shah said these plantation drives will help to mitigate the impact of global warming and carbon emissions.
 
Shah said  "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam"- One Earth, One Family, One Future, has been adopted as the mission statement of G-20.  He added that India, along with France, initiated the International Solar Alliance, a project that aims to create One Sun, One World, One Grid and many countries are now participating and contributing in this alliance.

Mr Shah added the government has started various green initiatives to deal with environmental challenges.
 
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the Mission LiFE launched by Prime Minister Modi gets resonance in the world, which gives the message of mindful consumption.
 
Hailing the Central Armed forces for this plantation drive, Mr Shah said that today the legacy has been created by planting 4 crore trees in a span of three years and expressed confidence that the goal of planting 5 crore trees by December 2023 will be achieved.
 
He said India formed the International Solar Alliance to initiate the One Sun, One World, One Grid project, many countries are now participating and contributing to this alliance, it is a significant achievement of the Government.

Mr Shah said that the initiatives such as Net-Zero Carbon Emission, International Solar Alliance, 20 percent Ethanol Blending, construction of 12 modern refineries for converting biogas into biofuel, and the Green Hydrogen Mission are being eagerly observed by the world and are being emulated.
 
Union Home Minister mentioned that India has also explored new methods to reduce single-use plastics.
 
The Home Minister said that the Central Armed Police Forces have shown their dedication to not only protecting the borders but conserving the environment.
 
Mr Shah also congratulated the families of the Paramilitary forces, who have participated in this plantation drive. Union Home Minister also said that environmental protection is possible only by planting trees which will provide oxygen to many future generations.

During the event, the Home Minister also electronically inaugurated 15 newly constructed buildings of various types in eight different campuses of CRPF,  built at a cost of  165 crores rupees.

The one-of-its-kind Plantation Drive across the country was launched by Mr Shah on 12th July 2020.
 
The CAPFs have planted more than 3.55 crore saplings across the nation in a span of three years from 2020 to 2022.
 
The collective target of planting 1.5 Crore saplings by all Central Reserve Police Forces was set for this year.
 
Taking the total sapling plantation to five crores will be an exemplary contribution of the CAPFs to the overall environmental protection efforts of the Nation.
