Ukraine: European, Canadian leaders arrive to mark 3rd anniversary of Russia’s invasion

In Ukraine, leaders from Europe and Canada arrived to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion. Travelling by train, a dozen top officials reached the capital, Kyiv, where they were greeted at the station by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and the president’s chief of staff, Andrii Yermak.

Among them were European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In a statement on social media, von der Leyen reaffirmed that in this fight for survival, it is not only Ukraine’s destiny at stake, but Europe’s destiny as well. European Council President Antonio Costa, along with the prime ministers of several Northern European nations and Spain also arrived. The leaders are set to attend events commemorating the anniversary and discuss ongoing support for Ukraine amid U.S. policy shifts under President Donald Trump.
