National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical programs will be held on May 5th at three centres across the UAE. A total of 2,223 students from the UAE have registered to appear for the pen-and-paper-based NEET 2024 exam, which serves as the singular common entrance for securing MBBS/BDS seats at medical institutions across India. The three designated centres are the Abu Dhabi Indian School in Abu Dhabi, the Indian High School in Dubai, and the Sharjah Indian School in Sharjah.
The uniform 3-hour 20-minute exam will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Gujarati and Malayalam among others. The reporting time for the candidates at the examination centres will be from 09.30 am to 12.00 pm. Qualifying NEET with high scores is critical for students aspiring to gain admission to India’s most prestigious government and private medical colleges. As per amendments to India’s National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act 2020, NEET serves as the single entrance test for undergraduate courses across all disciplines of modern medicine as well as traditional Indian medicine streams like Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy.
