The two days extended Executive Committee meeting of BJP Manipur concluded on Wednesday and took two resolutions which includes working towards bringing normalcy in the State. The meeting was held at BJP Manipur Pradesh Office in Imphal and attended by Union Minister of law and justice- Arjun Ram Meghwal, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and MP and BJP Northeast region in-charge Sambit Patra. MP and BJP in charge of Manipur Dr. Ajeet Gopchade, State cabinet ministers, BJP MLAs, Rajya Sabha MP of Manipur, President of BJP Manipur Pradesh and other executive members of the party also attended the meeting.
On the sideline of the meeting, speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that talks have already been initiated with the two communities in tension in the State to facilitate bringing normalcy in Manipur. He said that the State Government is working tirelessly under the guidance of the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to bring peace in the State as soon as possible.
He said that a committee under the chairmanship of Manipur’s Works Minister K. Govindas has already formed and is looking after the requirements in relief camps and living conditions of inmates. Some additional sub-committee has also been formed for the purpose so that every necessary items and provision may be made available in relief camps promptly.
The two-day Executive Committee meeting took two resolutions including extends of congratulation to Narendra Modi for assuming office as the Prime Minister of India for the third time and gratitude to the Prime Minister for initiating border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border, removal of Free Movement Regime between Myanmar and India to curb illegal immigration from the neighbouring country. The meeting also resolved to work hard to bring peace and normalcy in the State.
