Turkey's President urges Russian President to avoid steps that could jeopardize resumption of Black Sea grain initiative

Amid the uncertainty over the black sea grain deal, Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the importance of avoiding steps that could jeopardize the resumption of the Black Sea grain initiative.

According to the statement, the two leaders also agreed that Putin would visit Turkey but an exact date is yet to be revealed. The talks come after Russia quit the grain deal in July.

The deal had allowed the safe Black Sea export of Ukraine grain to different countries. Moscow has maintained that it was ready to return to the deal once an accompanying agreement concerning Russia was implemented.

Turkey's President Erdogan said last month that the grain deal could be restored during Putin's upcoming visit and called on Western countries to consider Russia's demands.
