Tripura: Sepahijala district administration undertaking all necessary steps for smooth & transparent voting for 2 legislative assembly constituencies of Dhanpur & Boxanagar

In Tripura, the Sepahijala district administration has been undertaking all necessary steps for the smooth and transparent voting for the two legislative assembly constituencies of Dhanpur and Boxanagar. Talking to Akashvani, district collector and magistrate of Sepahijala,  Dr.Vishal Kumar said that the election department has completed all procedures with regard to the polls to these two seats. The general, expenditure and police observers have arrived in the district, he said adding, there will be 15 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) deployed at these two constituencies, in addition to seven companies of Tripura State Rifles (TSR). With this, there will be a total of 2300-2400 security personnel on the ground. He informed that the polling stations will be manned by the CAPF personnel only. Mr. Kumar said, cameras will be installed in the polling centres and live webcasting will be done.

As Sepahijala district has around 100 kilometers of border with Bangladesh, he said manpower will be reinforced to prevent any untoward incident as well as to stop illegal voters. There are 110 polling stations in both the constituencies, 59 in Dhanpur and 51 in Boxanagar. Besides, there are 50 thousand electorates in Dhanpur and 51 thousand in Boxanagar. Similar to the Legislative Assembly polls in February this year, the election commission has facilitated persons with disabilities and those above 80 years of age to exercise their right to franchise through postal ballots in a week's time from now.
