The Tripura Paralympics team bagged 23 medals, including 9 golds, at the Northeast Para Games held in Guwahati. In athletics, visually impaired athlete Md. Amjad Hossain surprised many by finishing with three gold medals to his credit alone. Besides, para-athlete Sushanta Nama won three silvers and one gold. A bronze was won by Nayan Chandra Roy. In swimming, the state team won 16 medals, including 5 gold medals. Sameer Barman finished with three golds and one silver, Vinit Roy secured two silvers and one gold, Sukesh Sarkar earned four silvers, Abhijit Dev won one gold, one silver, and one bronze, Saptarshi Pal claimed three silvers, and Rakesh Debvarma won one gold medal. The three-day event, which began at the International Stadium in Guwahati on November 27 under the aegis of the Assam Paralympics Association, concluded today.
