The 68th death anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution Dr B.R. Ambedkar is being observed in various parts of Tripura.
The state-level programme to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas was held at Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala this morning where floral tributes were paid at the statue of the great social reformer by Tripura Minister for SC welfare Sudhangshu Das.
Talking to reporters, Mr Das said that Dr Ambedkar was not only the architect of the constitution but also a great social reformer and politician.
He said on Dr Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas it is time to remember his legacy, especially his efforts to uplift the marginalized communities, and follow in his footsteps.
He also urged the young generation to follow the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar.
In another programme held at the premises of the Tripura Legislative Assembly in the city, Deputy Speaker, Ram Prasad Paul garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar and remembered his immense contribution.
