Tripura, bye-poll for Dhanpur and Boxanagar legislative assembly seats under Sepahijala district to be held tomorrow

In Tripura, the bye-poll for Dhanpur and Boxanagar legislative assembly seats under Sepahijala district will be held tomorrow. The BJP has fielded Bindu Debnath from Dhanpur seat, whereas Taffajal Hossain has thrown his hat for the Boxanagar seat and is pitted against CPI (M) nominee Mizan Hussain.

Kaushik Chanda will be the Left Front candidate from Dhanpur.

The Sepahijala district administration has taken all necessary steps for smooth and transparent voting for these two seats. The polling party will depart with EVMs and other election equipments this morning.
 
The election department has said that the polling centres will only be manned by CAPF officials. There are 15 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) deployed at these two constituencies, in addition to seven companies of Tripura State Rifles (TSR). With this, there will be a total of 2300-2400 security personnel on the ground. Cameras will be installed in the polling centres and live webcasting will be done.

There are 110 polling stations in both constituencies, which comprises 59 in Dhanpur and 51 in Boxanagar. Besides, there are 50 thousand electorates in Dhanpur and 51 thousand in Boxanagar.

The election commission had facilitated persons with disabilities and those above 80 years of age to exercise their right to franchise through postal ballots, as well as for persons on election duty. Counting of votes will take place on 8th of this month.
