The Tourism Ministry today said that it promotes India in a holistic manner as a 365-day tourism destination through various initiatives and its website and social media promotions. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat informed that the ministry also promotes lesser-known destinations to diversify tourism through various initiatives, including the Dekho Apna Desh initiative.

Mr. Shekhwat said that the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Ministry has been revamped as Swadesh Darshan 2.0 with the objective of developing sustainable and responsible tourism destinations with a tourist- & destination-centric approach.
