The sports ministry today said that a total of 24 National Centres of Excellence (NCoEs) have been established across the country by the Sports Authority of India (SAII).

In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, informed that during the current financial year 2024-25, the government has allocated around 822 crore rupees to SAI regional centres and National Centres of Excellence for sports.

Dr Mandaviya said during the period of 2023-2024, around 796 crore rupees were released.
