After extreme heat conditions, various regions of Karnataka are now receiving torrential rain. Dakshina Kannada and Raichur districts received 10 cms rain yesterday. Heavy downpour was also seen in Chikkamagaluru and Belagavi. The met department forecast has predicted heavy rain or thundershowers at some places over Udupi, Shivamogga, Kodagu districts. Moderate rain or thundershowers are expected over Vijayapura, Kalburgi, Bagalkote, Belagavi, yadgir, Davangere, Ballari, Mandya,Mysuru, Bengaluru rural, urban districts. There will also be gusty winds reaching the speed of 40 to 50 kms in some places. The rain and windy conditions are likely to continue over many parts of the state till 16th May  . Thereafter light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts till May 19th. Due to the rains, the maximum temperature will fall by two to four degree Celsius during the next five days.
