Three Expenditure Observers appointed by Election Commission of India arrived in Manipur in connection to the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024. Speaking to Akashvani News exclusively, the Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur N. Ramananda said that three Expenditure Observers arrived in Manipur are stationed in the State to monitor the election campaigning. Three Police Observers and another three General Observers appointed by Election Commission of India will also arrive in the State very soon.
He said that the training for poll personnel including security forces have been going on in every district of the State. For Outer Manipur Lok Sabha Election, intending candidates can submit their nomination to the office of five hill districts.
The Joint CEO said that special polling stations for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) will be set up with the approval of Election Commission of India. The State Election Authority identified 98 such polling stations across the State.
It may be mentioned that the polls will be held in two stages in Manipur and election notification was issued for both Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat and Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat yesterday. Intending candidates can submit their nomination paper till 27th of March.
