The Third Culture Working Group meeting under India’s G20 Presidency concluded in Hampi in Karnataka yesterday. The meeting concluded with updates and development towards arriving at a consensus on the restitution of cultural property, harnessing the living heritage, promoting creative economy and industries and promoting digital technology in preserving masterpieces. The next meeting will be held in Varanasi on August 26th.
AIR Correspondent reports that the third Culture working group meeting in Hampi World Heritage site in Karnataka not only worked on a roadmap to revive culture but also provided the delegates from foreign countries an opportunity to experience Indian tradition and heritage. The G20 delegates participated in a Yoga session at the Hazara Rama Swamy Temple in Hampi, the erstwhile capital of the Vijayanagara empire that is today a UNESCO world heritage site.
A tree plantation activity also took place at the historic Queens’ Bath. The delegates were taken on a guided tour of the Royal Enclosure and other monuments depicting the rich heritage and architectural marvels of that era. Renowned cultural troupes gave performances on the magnificent history of Vijayanagara Empire. The delegates also enjoyed a coracle ride on the Tungabhadra river.
