The Telangana state government has urged the Centre to release dues of over ₹693 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM). Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called on Union Health Minister JP Nadda in Delhi yesterday and urged him to release ₹693.13 crore in dues to the state under the NHM. An official release later said the Chief Minister informed Mr. Nadda during the meeting about various initiatives taken by the state government to improve the health sector. He also briefed the Union Minister that the state government has been implementing the Ayushman Bharat guidelines since January this year in Telangana. A total of 5,159 Ayushman Health Centers, called Basti Dawakhanas, were set up to extend better healthcare services to rural and urban people.
He also requested the reimbursement of ₹231.40 crore in dues from the previous year, which the state government spent on the infrastructure and maintenance component under the NHM.
