Telangana State Legislature winter session to resume

The winter session of the Telangana State Legislature will be resuming this morning. It may be recalled that the Assembly and Council were adjourned on the 9th of this month after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s statement debated on the Telangana Thalli statue. A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will be held later today. The government is likely to introduce a few bills. Including the new Record of Rights (RoR) Bill. The RoR Bill seeks to replace the existing Dharani portal with the Bhumata portal to improve land records management and also to reinstate the village revenue system, which the earlier BRS government abolished. The house is likely to take up various key issues including farmers’ issues like the paddy purchase, the Lagicherla incident and following developments. The state government is also likely to introduce a few more amendment bills with respect to the Panchayat Raj Act, HYDRAA and the merging of about 150 villages with the concerned municipalities for administrative efficiency and resource allocation. However, it will be decided how long the session should continue and the issues to be discussed during the session at the BAC meeting to be held this morning.
