In Telangana, polling came to a close in all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies while 13 left wing extremism affected Assembly segments ended at 4PM. However, the poll authorities made it clear that all voters who are in queue lines inside the polling stations will be given a chance to vote.The polling was passed off peacefully. The state polled at an average of 61.16 per cent at 5PM. Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment registered 47.88 per cent polling by 5PM in the bye-poll.
Meanwhile, a case was registered against Hyderabad BJP candidate K Madhavi Lata for personally verifying voter identity of some women voters in the constituency. In another development, BJP has lodged a complaint with election authorities against PCC President and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by politically criticizing the BJP during a press conference in Kodangal while polling was underway. In another development, residents of a village in Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha constituency have reportedly boycotted the polling protesting against setting up a battery factory near by their villages. The village has 3299 voters.
