The junior doctors in Telangana called off their three-day strike after the state government issuing an order, allocating over 200 crore rupees to the Directorate of Medical Education for civil works at three major colleges in the state. They held day-long discussions with Health Department officials and Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha regarding their demands including hostel buildings at Gandhi Medical College, Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad and Kakatiya Medical College at Warangal. The Junior Doctors declared their decision to call off strike at a press conference held with the Minister in Hyderabad. The Health Minister said the department had issued an order sanctioning 406 crore rupees to DME for the current financial year to ensure that there were no delays in stipends. He also mentioned that the GO on civil works had been issued and the tender process would commence soon. He further stated that the issue of the new Osmania General Hospital building is pending in Telangana High Court.
