In Telangana, heatwave gripped several parts of the state as five districts had the mercury shooting up beyond the 45-degree Celsius mark, while the day temperatures in Hyderabad remained well above 41 degrees Celsius. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Adilabad at 45.5 degrees Celsius yesterday, followed by Nirmal recording at 45.4 degrees Celsius, and Jagtial at 45.3 degrees Celsius. Met officials forecast a slight drop in maximum temperatures for the next couple of days across the State.

Meanwhile, the Jubilee Hills area recorded the highest maximum temperature in Hyderabad at 42 degrees Celsius yesterday.
