The Telangana government is planning to issue a single digital family card to every family in the state for extending ration, health and other welfare schemes.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy mooted the idea at a review meeting held in Hyderabad last evening. States like Rajasthan, Haryana and Karnataka have already issued cards by compiling complete details of the families. The Chief Minister instructed officials to study the implementation, benefits and difficulties associated with them and to prepare a comprehensive report.
An official release stated that the Chief Minister also suggested that under a pilot project, one urban and one rural area should be selected under each Assembly constituency across the State and the action plan for issue of family digital cards should be commenced. These family digital cards will facilitate the beneficiaries to get welfare schemes, besides obtaining ration and health services anywhere in the State. They will have a health profile of each family.
