Telangana government has established the Telangana Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advisory Council and it is studying the best practices in AI policies for a strong policy framework.
IT Minister D Sridhar Babu informed this at the AI in Healthcare Summit: Road to BioAsia 2025 held in Hyderabad yesterday. Addressing the summit, the minister highlighted the Government’s emphasis on AI’s transformative potential for industries, the environment and society.
The Minister also said education and innovation can broadly impact the economy, especially in areas of comparative advantage, driving economic growth and productivity. He noted the scope of AI in healthcare is vast, ranging from drug discovery and diagnostics to enhancing patient care and safety.
Highlighting the AI Advisory Council, the minister emphasised its role in promoting inclusive, ethical and responsible AI growth aligned with Sustainable Development goals. He assured government support to help companies and announced training programmes on AI. Sridhar Babu also noted partnerships with companies to train highly skilled AI engineers for MSMEs and announced plans for an AI-focused university.
