In Telangana, elaborate security arrangements have been made in all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies and the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment in the state to ensure conduct of fair polling and prevent untoward incidents. Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta informed that the security drill comprises a strategic deployment of law enforcement agencies, including over 73 thousand civil police personnel, 500 sections of TS Special Police, 164 companies of Central armed police force, three companies of Tamil Nadu SAP, over two thousand personnel from other departments, and seven thousand Home Guards sourced from other states.

The DGP said the police had set up a network of 482 fixed static teams, 462 static surveillance teams (SSTs), 89 inter-state border checkposts, and 173 inter-district check posts. He further informed that the mobile police units have been mobilized to intercept and thwart any attempts of illegal transportation of money, liquor, or other illicit materials.

Meanwhile, a total 320 crore worth unaccounted cash, liquor, freebees have been seized so far in the state. Over 8 thousand 8 hundred FIRs for offences under various acts have been filed. According to the DGP, the In the tri-commissionerate area of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, police heightened security at over 8900 polling locations.
