Telangana CM visits flood-affected Khammam district on second consecutive day

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is visiting the flood-affected Khammam district on the second consecutive day today. He is examining the flood effect and visiting the families of those who lost their kin in rain-related incidents. It may be recalled that 16 people died in Telangana due to incessant rains that lashed several parts of the state.

 

Meanwhile, traffic has been restored on the National Highway between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. However, the authorities have requested that vehicle users exercise caution while travelling.

 

The South-Central railway has cancelled or partially cancelled over 480 trains to various destinations from Secunderabad and Vijayawada while the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation also cancelled over 570 buses. Meanwhile, Ministers and senior officials are on the field monitoring the relief activities which are underway. Meanwhile, the Met department has warned that heavy rains are very likely for the next few days due to formation in the Bay of Bengal.
