Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to the Centre to transfer 2,500 acres of defence lands to the Telangana Government for taking up road widening and other civic infrastructure development projects in Hyderabad. He also urged the Centre to sanction 2 lakh, 70 thousand houses under the Beneficiary Led Construction model. The Chief Minister called on Rajnath Singh in Delhi yesterday and submitted a memorandum for land transfer. Mr. Reddy brought to the attention of the defence minister the utilisation of 2 thousand 462 acres of land, owned by the state government, for the Imarat Research Centre (RCI) at Ravirala village. He appealed to the defence minister to accept the mutual transfer of lands between the state government and the defence department. The Chief Minister also appealed to Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to sanction 2 lakh 70 thousand houses to Telangana under the BLC model during this year. He explained to the union minister that the state government had decided to construct 25 lakh houses for the poor in their habitations.
